Now in its second year, the Postle Gift will be held on Saturday September 14th, 2019 from 2.30pm, and will be conducted by the Queensland Athletic League.

Events include the 75 Yards Arthur Postle Gift, the 75 Yards Women’s Gift, the 120m Open, 300m Open, and three youth races across 75 Yards, 120m & 300m. Entries closed on Friday 6th September.

There will also be entertainment for the whole family with handmade art and craft markets, inflatables and so much more. The night will finish with a family movie starting from 7:30pm.

Arthur Benjamin Postle was born in Springside, in the Pittsworth district in 1881. Postle began his athletic career in 1899 competing in amateur events in the Darling Downs region and later, in Brisbane.

Postle gained local fame with victories at Charters Towers and Townsville in 1904/05 and won many Australian championships. Arthur Postle achieved world fame at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia in 1906 by defeating the world champion. Postle won over 75 yds and 300 yds.

The footrace event is being held at Club Pittsworth, Short St, Pittsworth from 2.30pm on Saturday 14th September.
