The Toowoomba North Rotary Club’s main fundraiser each year is the David Hack Classic Meet, being held again on Sunday May 1st 2016. Activity is centred around the Aerotec Hangar at Toowoomba City Airport – the home of the famous Zuccoli Aircraft Collection.
This year’s David Hack Classic Meet features an exotic mix of classic, vintage and modern cars, historic trucks , military vehicles, racing cars and motor bikes and a Fly-in of warbirds and classic planes. The featured aircraft for 2016 is a SIAI-Marchetti S211 Jet Trainer and vehicle, the Bandag Bullet – a true tyre torture machine and the test for Bandag’s cold process retreads. The truck has twin V8 diesels, each engine has 2 turbo’s and supercharger producing over 2000HP.
There are visitors raffles with great prizes including a warbird flight and V8 Supercar laps at the Ipswich Raceway. Catering is on-site with hamburgers, chips, tea/coffee, sandwiches, cakes and soft drinks available all day.
The event is open to the public from8.30am to 2.30pm, raising much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, Blue Care, Careflight and other local charities. Admission is $15 for adults, children under 12 FREE and the Family price is capped at $40 for 2 adults and teenagers.
