A 50th Anniversary For Toowoomba Kindergarten

Vera Lacaze Memorial Kindergarten & Preschool is celebrating 50 years of service to the local Toowoomba community in 2015.

As we were officially opened by the then Mayor, Alderman Jack McCafferty on 20 March,1965 we will be celebrating this milestone with a cake cutting by current Mayor Paul Antonio at 9.15am on Friday 20 March at 168a West Street, Toowoomba.

Vera Lacaze (named after the first woman elected to the Toowoomba City Council) plays a very important role in the early education and social development of young children in the Toowoomba region. This vital service has continued for 50 years because of countless hours volunteered by parents and other members of the local community, along with the dedication and professionalism of staff.

Celebrations of this sort provide an opportunity for those who have supported the Kindergarten to reflect on past successes. These celebrations also provide encouragement to new members of the community by demonstrating what can be achieved through volunteering and how rewarding it can be.

Arrangements are currently being made for a 50th celebration fun day in September 2015. Further details will be available closer to the date.
