Famous “Unusualist” To Perform For Hospital’s 90th Anniversary

Tickets are selling fast for St Vincent’s Hospital Toowoomba’s “An Evening Soiree”, to be held at The Empire Theatre on Saturday, May 26.

YouTube sensation Raymond Crowe will join some of Australia’s most beloved performers in Toowoomba next month (May) at a unique 1920s-themed event to honour a Hospital that has served communities on the Darling Downs for 90 years.

Raymond Crowe, trumpeting extraordinaire James Morrison and jazz vocalist Emma Pask will headline the show. Also featuring are local musicians and aspiring young performers from schools on the Darling Downs.

“It will be wonderful to see internationally acclaimed artists and local performers gathering together with the community to help the Hospital celebrate this importance milestone,” St Vincent’s Hospital Toowoomba General Manager Carl Yuile said.

Raymond Crowe is an Adelaide-based performer who has earned a worldwide following for his unique work as an “Unusualist”, delivering a combination of comedy, show art and magic.

When Raymond’s hand show work to the tune of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” found its way onto YouTube, it attracted millions of hits and earned Raymond an instant global fan base. This led to headline acts in Las Vegas and appearances on talk and variety television programs around the world, including the David Letterman Show and the Royal Variety Performance.

Raymond was chosen by his peers as the only Australian on the list of the world’s Top 20 Magicians and has received accolades from US comedian and actor, Steve Martin.
