It’s Starting To Look A Lot Like Christmas, And We Need Your Help!

Toowoomba’s favourite and Australia’s largest community Christmas event, Toowoomba’s 2022 Christmas Wonderland is seeking enthusiastic and festive-loving volunteers to help at this year’s 20th Anniversary event.

Since its inception, Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland has welcomed over one million visitors and has returned over $1.32 million back to the local community through its beneficiaries.

Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is proudly presented by the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, and it takes thousands of volunteer hours to set up the event, open nightly and pack up.

Project Chairman, Lion Marshall Cox, is calling on the generous people of the Toowoomba area to come and help with this year’s event. “In previous years we have relied on the generous people of Toowoomba to help us with this fantastic family event and this year is no different,” he said.

“I’m asking anyone who would like to help bring the joy of Christmas to our community to go to our website and register as a volunteer.  Your assistance will be greatly appreciated, and you get to work with like-minded locals.”

Work on setting up this year’s Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland commenced on Friday 18th November and this annual event will open to the public at 7pm on Saturday 3rd December and close at 9pm on Christmas Eve.

Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is a family-friendly event held in the Botanic Gardens, Queens Park. The event operates from 7pm to 10pm each night from Saturday 3rd December 2022 up to, and including Christmas Eve. Enter by gold coin donation or ‘Tap & Go’ payment at each of the three entry points.

The annual Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland is proudly hosted by the Lions Club of Toowoomba West Inc. – in 2021, over 66,000 visitors enjoyed Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland in December last year and we are looking forward to welcoming back our community in 2022.

Enjoy the traditional Christmas lights display, as well as local and roving performers, raffles, BBQ and Christmas entertainment for the whole family.

Toowoomba’s Christmas Wonderland proudly supports the following local organisations. The major beneficiaries include Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, The Toowoomba Hospice and Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland. All donations are evenly distributed to the beneficiaries.
