Night Works On The Warrego Highway (Toowoomba Range) From 14th October

The Department of Transport and Main Roads will be conducting survey work at night on the Toowoomba Range section of the Warrego Highway from Sunday 14 October, for four nights until 17 October, as part of Operation Queenslander.

Work will commence on the eastbound down lanes on 14 October and will involve the closure of the left eastbound lane for safety reasons. Work on the down lanes will be completed on the evening of 15 October.

Work will commence on the westbound up lanes on the evening of 15 October. Work on the up lanes will require the closure of the right westbound lane.

Works will be carried out between 7pm and 4am. The safety of motorists and road workers is the number one priority when delivering these works. Traffic controllers and speed restrictions will be used at work sites.

Operators of oversize vehicles, greater than five metres in width, are required to contact the site before proceeding on the Toowoomba Range. Contact details are available on the Conditions of Operation Database (www.tmr.qld.gov.au; search for Conditions of Operation Database).

Motorists should drive to the changed conditions and obey all signage for their own safety and the safety of road workers. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated while the works are under way.

The program of works is being delivered under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), a joint federal and state initiative. Under these arrangements, the Australian Government provides 75% of the funding, with 25% from the Queensland Government.
