Renowned international Scottish born Celtic classical/crossover entertainer, Kathleen Procter-Moore, will be guest speaker and singer at the annual Society of St Andrew of Scotland Annual Ladies Night Gala dinner which will be held at the 125 year old Downs Club on Friday 23 May 2014.
The event will also include the pipers from the Caledonian pipe band, highland dancers, traditional Scottish singing as well as a three course meal to include haggis which will be piped in with a traditional processional and Robbie Burns’ poetic address.
Bursaries will be presented to oncology nurses from St Andrews Hospital on the night to allow them to undertake further study as well as the Clan Ferguson awards to pipers and dancers. The Society exists to keep Scottish traditions and culture alive while raising funds for charitable endeavours such as educational bursaries to secondary school students as well as nursing professionals.
Dress for the evening will be formal with the men donning kilts or dinner suits with black bow ties and the ladies evening gowns. Traditional medals, honours and other regalia will most welcome. The cost for the evening will be $70 for non-members which will include a ticket in the lucky door prize drawn on the evening.
